This is oddly emotional for me to do and to write. There is a lump in my throat as I realise what I am typing.

Monday, May 19th will be the final page of Queer. Over two years, 460 pages.

I know it's been ridiculously sketchy lately with pages looking absolutly rough and rushed and taking extended hiatuses to make up for how busy my life has been lately. I even tried to wrap up some of the storylines but was only able to finish up some of them. Otherwise the characters are in limbo. I suppose Josh will eventually meet someone at the café and fall madly in love and many of the other characters would find happy endings as well. That's just the way I roll, yo.

Really, the hits on this site have gone way down and I'm not making any money which means I was devoting around 20 hours a week to a comic that was bringing me down in terms of my own stress levels and emotional state. Not even my friends read this comic anymore and as much as I love every person who comes by the site it's just not enough to keep me going.

After going up and spending two weeks speaking in schools I think I came to realise how much I wanted to se what I was doing. I am going to attempt to spend the next couple years trying to speak in as many schools as I can across Canada. This will take a lot of work on my part, hard work that will consume most of my time. I will rarely be home, but I think it's going to be worth it in the end. In the last two weeks I met over 1,500 people and it was rewarding and enriching.

Aside from that life has been overwhelming with shows, my home situation, work and just about everything else which has been filliung my plate going into summer.

My online presence? I think I might roll onto the Blogsphere and start posting about my experiences in schools and my thoughts on the state of the world. I've always been more of a writer than an artist and this comic has always been a hobby. I'll continue to have things to say but I will likely have a more direct way of approaching it.

Stay tuned to the Queerlings Facebook group and I'll make sure when I get that together I'll message all members as well as post on this site links to that.

Thank you all for the wonderful guests arts, comics, hits, e-mails, friends and everything else. And goodnight.

I'll be back.

-Ryan "Pyros" Clayton

Hey Queerlings,

I come bearing badish news.

My life has gotten absolutly insane lately and likely I'll spend many periods over the next while away. As such I'm being forced to go back to updating three days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) starting today.

I wish I could keep updating daily but I don't have any time. Rather than give up all together I'm going to try going back to my old update schedule. If things calm down again (or I'm not needing to work 40 hours a week) I'll go back to updating daily.

Thanks for understanding.

-Pyros

Salutations Queerlings,

A lot of things going on in my life, it's absolutly insane (and exciting)

I finally updated the donation stuff... since it's halfway through April we'll call it April/May... it's really May's, but we're starting early. Let's see if we can finally hit the goal of $40! Arthur is definitly a popular character...

I've been really busy trying to get out pages for May, since I'm going away again to work for the school board for two weeks. I'll be teaching in four cities, over 1,300 kids and adults, over 40 workshops. It'll be intense. Root for me!

Also... two comics I had for guest week didn't arrive in my inbox until just a couple days ago (I LOVE YOU ROMAN! I LOOOOOOOVE YOU!) so I'll post those either if I miss a page over the time I'm away or if I do get all mine done then over that weekend. I'll let y'all know.

I also updated the CGWiki entry for this comic... though feel free for you guys to go add any information you'd like. It's a Wiki for a reason, feel free to write it as you want!

That's all for now, I love you all!

-Pyros

Exciting News!

Hello Queerlings,

I have some very exciting news that has been several years in the making.

This April I will be returning to my hometown to do some anti-homophobia workshops for various groups including my old school board. If they are sufficiently impressed with my presentation they'll book me in to the actual schools to do workshops for the people of the town.

This is an extremely exciting venture for me and one of the few organized attempts to talk about homophobia in a small town. If all plays out well I'll be able to take what I learn from this and form it into a larger project to go to small towns and tackle homophobia at it's source. I'm so thrilled, excited and honoured to be at the forefront of this.

With all that's been going on with this over the last month or so I've been just barely able to keep updates of the comic going. I have managed only with some real time crunches. With this now about to happen I need the week I'm going off.

Therefore, it's about that time again for a Queer guest week! I did the same thing last year just for fun, but this year I really need it. I'm looking for any comic artists who want to help me out, get some advertizing for their comic and just plain do some fun guest comicking to send in some comics for me. They would be posted from March 31st to April 4th which is the week I am away. I would be eternally grateful to anyone who put in comics.

Send any submissions to queercomics@hotmail.com

Thank you all so much in advance!
Well, Queerlings, I have been so overwhelmingly busy lately I have just barely had time to do the comic, much less be around on the site, but I felt the need to acknowledge today.

Today marks 400 pages on Queer. That's right, 400 pages of comic goodness.

This comic has come so incredibly far since it's inception two years ago. The art has changed, the characters have grown and the plot has thickened. I'm thinking about the comic from a different perspective than I had in the past, I see it as a part of my life and not just some hobby I do for an outlet.

So everyone join me in celebrating 400 pages of comics, and here's to 400 more!

Also, I'll have a big, exciting update soon, but I'll keep that on the DL for now.

Love and Kisses,
Pyros

Hello Queerlings!

I anm back... well more or less. I still don't have an internet connection at home (a techie is coming tomorrow to fix it) but I have uploaded comics for the next two weeks at an internet café so you all have something to read.

I look forward to being back officially soon. Remember Wednesday is the two year anniversary of the comic!

I LOVE YOU ALL!

-Pyros

Hello Queerlings,

Well I don't have internet yet, but I'm working on it. It's taking some time to get settled into the new place and wrap my head around what's happened in the last couple days. Insanity.

I will be able to be back by the 1st, I think. I should be able to anyways. I'm working on it.

Thank goodness to everyone who helped me out and offered support. It was highly appreciated.

LOVE,
Pyros

HELLO WONDERFUL FABULOUS QUEERLINGS!

So here is an update! I have just come from signing a new lease agreement at a lovely little place not far from where I was before. It's very exciting.

Now I'm not sure how this is going to go for the first bit, but I'll need to set internet up myself. It shouldn't take long, and I think I will be able to upload comics remotely from internet cafes and such for the first little while until it is set up. The important thing is getting my computer back so I have my scanner and my paintshop program to make things pretty. Yay!

So communication will probably go for a little while just because of the nature of moving and the sheer amount of things that need to be done, but I will post once I'm settled and it looks like the comic will return to it's former glory on the 1st (or, technically, the 3rd as that is the Monday)

Don't forget the 5th is the two year anniversary of the comic as well! OMG!

Much love, and thanks for the support shown so far,
Pyros

Fabulous greetings Queerlings,

Well, things are about the same, though looking up every day. I'm trying my very bestest to focus on the positive things going on around me and enjoy as much as I can.

Your support so far has meant so much to me and I love you all. Thank you so much and I will work very hard to bring all the Queer gang back to you soon!

In the meanwhile let me recommend a couple comics I love (and am missing out on having no steady interweb)

http://www.funnyfarmcomics.com A lovely comic with a massive archive. Only a small gay storyline, but it's a fun one.

http://www.girlgeniusonline.com I used to advertise here and boy I got a lot of hits. Awesome story, beautiful art, I love it.

http://boymeetsboy.comicgenesis.com Classic.

http://arcana.comicgenesis.com Even more classic.

http://www.khaoskomix.com Nothing like plugging Tab's comic. This gal has helped me out many times and I always love reading her comic.

Also, please take the time to click on the Project Wonderful ads that people have put up. I have gone to most of them and there are some awesome things to check out, as well it supports them!

You guys are fabulous. I will stay in contact as much as I can!

-Pyros

So here is an update for you queerlings,

Things have calmed down a little, though my blood pressure has probably never been higher. This is a very difficult and stressful time for me and I hope everything turns out for the best.

Right now I have the wonderful support of friends taking care of me, I spent the last few nights floating around friend's houses. It's... different. I'm not used to relying on others for my own well-being.

My future roommate and I are going to be going around looking for places in the next couple days. We're hoping for the best.

Thank you all for the support you've shown. I will try to keep you updated (though internet will be sporatic)

Also, if anyone is kind enough to donate I WILL send you the Eric background when I get settled with my computer back again. It may be a wait, but you will receive it.

Thank you all so much,
Pyros

Emergency Hiatus

My lovely Queerlings,

As you see above I've been forced into putting the comic into a temporary hiatus. Believe me, I wish it was different. I will not stop working on the comic, but I have no computer on which to work on them, nor will I have a reliable internet connection to get on here. I'll try to keep you all updated via friends and internet cafés.

Basically what has happened is my landlords have been hit with a family emergency. It's awful, and I feel terrible something bad has happened to such amazing people (who have treated me wonderfully in my time here)

However, the backlash is that they need the room I'm staying in. I have to be out immediately. In order to help them as best I can I've agreed to stay at friends houses and couch surf for the next two weeks or so.

I have already put in for a place for the 1st, but have yet to hear back. Everyone hope for the best.

I thank all of you for your support in advance of this. I know I will be back as soon as possible, the comic won't be far from my mind. I hope I can count on you guys for support and to be here when I get back.

Thank you, and hopefully to be back soon,
Pyros

Greeting you fabulous Queerlings,

Thank you so much! Already, halfway through the month, we've made it over halfway to the goal for donations. You guys have no idea how much I appreciate it, or how much it helps!

Moving onwards, I've posted a new donation background, ERIC! From now until the end of the month get an Eric background when you donate $1 or more!

I know we can get to $100 by the end of the month!
