Thank you... and Goodnight
This is oddly emotional for me to do and to write. There is a lump in my throat as I realise what I am typing.

Monday, May 19th will be the final page of Queer. Over two years, 460 pages.

I know it's been ridiculously sketchy lately with pages looking absolutly rough and rushed and taking extended hiatuses to make up for how busy my life has been lately. I even tried to wrap up some of the storylines but was only able to finish up some of them. Otherwise the characters are in limbo. I suppose Josh will eventually meet someone at the café and fall madly in love and many of the other characters would find happy endings as well. That's just the way I roll, yo.

Really, the hits on this site have gone way down and I'm not making any money which means I was devoting around 20 hours a week to a comic that was bringing me down in terms of my own stress levels and emotional state. Not even my friends read this comic anymore and as much as I love every person who comes by the site it's just not enough to keep me going.

After going up and spending two weeks speaking in schools I think I came to realise how much I wanted to se what I was doing. I am going to attempt to spend the next couple years trying to speak in as many schools as I can across Canada. This will take a lot of work on my part, hard work that will consume most of my time. I will rarely be home, but I think it's going to be worth it in the end. In the last two weeks I met over 1,500 people and it was rewarding and enriching.

Aside from that life has been overwhelming with shows, my home situation, work and just about everything else which has been filliung my plate going into summer.

My online presence? I think I might roll onto the Blogsphere and start posting about my experiences in schools and my thoughts on the state of the world. I've always been more of a writer than an artist and this comic has always been a hobby. I'll continue to have things to say but I will likely have a more direct way of approaching it.

Stay tuned to the Queerlings Facebook group and I'll make sure when I get that together I'll message all members as well as post on this site links to that.

Thank you all for the wonderful guests arts, comics, hits, e-mails, friends and everything else. And goodnight.

I'll be back.

-Ryan "Pyros" Clayton

I'd just like to say how much i've enjoyed reading this comic. I think it's amazing how some people can write and draw, to have a talent like you do.
Good luck for the future.

Darn! Sad to see it end, but happy that you are doing what is best for you.

Would love to read about your speaking adventures. Post on this journal if you get a blog up and running for that, will ya?

I'm going to miss the awesomeness of Queer! so much. Even so, I'm glad you're ending it before it starts to suck. =]<3

I am sorry that you are ending Queer. We (loyal readers) are going to miss this comic.

Still, from your journal its costing you more than you get back in satisfaction or money. Queer, like many other webcomics is a labor of love. I (and surely many others) appreciate the work you put into it

I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. A Spanish proverb recently picked up goes may you be healthy and have money and the time to enjoy them.

I just can't believe it's over. There's so much left to discover but it's better that your doing what you need to. I really wish that you'd be able to continue, but I hope you the best of luck in future endeavours :)I wish I could ask you to come to my school but with it being the University of Western Ontario, that might be difficult lol. Anyway, best of luck, and hope to hear from you soon :)

Dammit it looks like I've found this comic only a few months too late... *sigh* I read them all in one sitting and love it. Best of luck with the schools in Canada, I'll be sure to check in on facebook in case there's a magical surprise update some day ^_^
